Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital expanded and opened the Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Center in December. With this expansion, the Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Center increased the number of endoscopy rooms and pancreaticobiliary endoscopy rooms, and adopted state-of-the-art high-resolution fluoroscopy equipment, and capsule endoscopy for small and large intestines. In addition, an ultrasound examination room, a liver fibrosis examination room, an ultrasound endoscopy room, and a digestive exercise examination room were arranged in an expanded space to create a pleasant environment.
In particular, with the goal of establishing a cutting edge endoscopy room, an endoscopy progress management system was developed, and equipment disinfection management and a real-time monitoring system were introduced. Through this, the expanded center was operated efficiently and faster, safer, and provides more accurate examinations.
Department of Gastroenterology at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital performs high-level ultrasound endoscopic interventional procedures, diagnoses bile duct cancer with the SPY Glass system, and performs pancreatobiliary endoscopy for patients with anatomical changes due to previous surgery. The department also has a high success rate in removing high-difficulty early cancers such as the esophagus, stomach, and large intestine through therapeutic endoscopy.
Chief Hyun Joo Jang of Gastroenterology said, “With the expansion of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Center, we are able to provide the best medical treatment in the state-of-the-art facilities. We will do our best to help patients live a healthy and enjoyable life.”
