Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital adopted VUNO Med®-DeepBrain, an AI-based smart diagnostic system for detection of Alzheimer’s disease, for the first time in Korea after signing an agreement with VUNO to promote AI-driven healthcare services on January 29.

VUNO Med®-DeepBrain is an AI-powered diagnostic software that helps doctors in detecting Alzheimer’s disease (AD) by analyzing brain MRI data of AD patients in comparison with non-patient data.

The software makes it possible to check the results immediately after the brain MRI scan by quickly analyzing data and generating the report with graphs to visually identify the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in about one minute.

The type of data it analyzes includes brain capacity, statistics, and white matter hyperintensities for detection of vascular dementia, all of which are very helpful in diagnosing variety of brain injuries including dementia.

”We are very enthusiastic in adopting new technologies of the ear of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to gain a competitive edge in healthcare, education, and research sectors. We expect that this software will greatly help our staff in providing the brain-injured patients with medical services in more accurate and efficient way,” said Director Young Goo Lee of the hospital.
