Dr. Ho Sik Hwang wins the ‘Best Paper of Session’ in ASCRS Symposium

Dr. Ho Sik Hwang of Ophthalmology at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital won the ‘Best Paper of Session’ in ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) Symposium held on May 8th, 2016 in New Orleans. Dr. Hwang published a thesis titled “Optical Coherence Tomography Imaging of Human Lacrimal Glands: In Vivo Study” in the oral session on xerophthalmia, which has been chosen as the best paper out of 16 papers in total.
The research is about the world’s first successful result of tomography of the lachrymal gland using OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) equipment. With this new finding, discovering of change in xerophthalmia became available now. Dr. Hwang also got the best paper award in ISRS (International Society of Refractive Surgery) in 2015.
Dr. Hwang’s thesis was published in the November 2015 issue of the renowned international journal ‘Ophtalmology’.
