Hallym University Medical Center visits Mongolian hospitals

A delegation of Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) visited Mongolia to cement cooperative ties with the country’s hospitals in Ulaanbaatar in August, 2013.
The six member delegation led by Dr. Sang-Soo Lee of Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital and Heesung Yoon, director of management strategy of Hallym University Medical Center met with executives at four hospitals in Mongolia and discussed ways and shared strategies for improving cooperation including training more Mongolian doctors at Hallym as well as sending Mongolian patients to Hallym.
The four hospitals that the delegation visited during the Aug.24-29 trip are: The First Central Hospital, Health Sciences University of Mongolia, Gurvan Gal Hospital, and Darkhan General Hospital.
HUMC held a gala dinner “Hallym Day” with some 60 Mongolian doctors and patients who received treatment at HUMC and their family in commemoration of HUMC-Mongolia friendship at a hotel in Ulaanbaatar on Aug. 25.
Mongolian patients including ranking officials from judicial, tax, police and academia circles and a Mongolian national wrestler expressed deep gratitude for HUMC’s excellent medical professionals and were impressed by Hallym’s cutting-edge medical technology and facilities.
A video clip of HUMC and Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital were played, followed by speeches, presentation of appreciation plaque, words of Mongolian doctors who were trained at HUMC and patients who recovered after getting treatment at HUMC.
With the delegation visit to Mongolia, HUMC is expected to further expand international exchanges with Mongolian hospitals including manpower exchanges.
