HUMC’s new hospital featured in Financial Times

A group of journalists at Financial Times visited Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital to introduce the hospital in its a feature story titled “South Korea invests in medical tourism.” The story describes Korea’s leading hospitals with a technological edge seeking to boost medical tourism.
The visit was made after the Financial Times reporters officially requested for an interview with HUMC doctors at newly opened Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital while in search for an exemplary medical institution in Korea.
Simon Mundy, Financial Times Seoul bureau chief and his fellow journalists interviewed Dr. Jun Dong Chang, head of the hospital’s Arthroplasty Center and checked out state-of-the art facilities at radiology department.
“Korean doctors have an outstanding hand skill in surgery,” Dr. Chang said in an interview. “As you may already know, information technology is very well developed in Korea and this kind of advanced technology can be efficiently applied to patients.”
The group toured the hospital’s major facilities and tested latest medical equipment that accurately detects cancer, cardiovascular disease and other serious diseases.
