Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital Opens in October

Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym’s 6th hospital, officially opened its doors in Dongtan, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do on October 29, 2012.


With a total space of 98,918 square meters, the 800-bed facility which started construction in 2010 has 14 floors above ground and 3 underground.


Hallym’s new hospital in Dongtan provides patients with multidisciplinary care at 9 specialized centers: the Clinical Neuroscience Center; the Bone and Joint Center; the Digestive Disease Center; the Respiratory Disease Center; the Cardiovascular Center; the Endocrine and Thyroid Center; the Arthroplasty Center; the Emergency Medical Center; and the Health Promotion Center.


Dr. Hae-Ran Lee, President of Hallym University Medical Center, said, “Our hospital is staffed with highly experienced medical specialists. We are also adopting the most up-to-date medical system we acquired by operating our five hospitals.” And she added, “Through stable management and sustained growth, we will strive to become one of the best hospitals in the region.”


Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart hospital is only two-minute away from the Dongtan Interchange on the Gyeongbu Expressway, a 40-minute drive from Gangnam Station, and a 20-minute drive from Byeongjeom Station. The new hospital is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare in the southwest of Gyeonggi-do.
