Son Gets Fellowship Grant from APLAR

Dr. Kyeong Min Son, a fellow of rheumatology at Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, was on the list of the 2011 APLAR Fellowship Grant with a research on ‘Neuroimaging in the Evaluation of Pain Pathway in Fibromyalgia’ by the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR). Fibromyalgia is a medical disorder characterized by a chronic, widespread pain, a heightened and painful response to pressure, but there is nothing unusual on X-ray evidence.
Valuing her research, the multinational medical league has decided to assist graduates in undertaking an intensive or advanced study in the research or clinical aspects of either adult or paediatric rheumatology in a rheumatic disease unit in any country for a year with a grant of US$12,000.
Dr. Son graduated from Hallym University, Korea, and completed her master’s course at the same medical school.
