Dr. In-Je Kim, Professor of rheumatology at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, won Young Investigator Awards at the 3rd East Asian Group of Rheumatology Meeting(EAGOR) held from May 29 to 30 in Beijing.
In her paper, 'The Influence of Knee Osteoarthritis on the Quality of Life and Lower Extremity Function in Korean Elderly Community Residents,' Dr. Kim said, "People, especially women over 50, who have knee osteoarthritis in Korean communities enjoy lower quality of life in mental and physical terms than that of people without such a problem. Objective indices show that physical functions of those with knee osteoarthritis, especially of women, have turned out to be noticeably lower." Dr. Hyun-Ah Kim, Professor of rheumatology at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital is a co-researcher.
