After graduating from Yonsei University Medical College in 1978, the new president started her medical career at Hallym University Medical College in 1985.
"I am very honored to be at the helm of HUMC which keeps making the efforts for change and innovation. It is also exciting to see our society turning into a more mature one in which people are evaluated by capabilities themselves beyond a gender prejudice. I will continue my efforts to revitalize HUMC's management, focusing on harmony, " said Dr. Lee.
Dr. Lee will head the medical center that includes six hospitals : Hallym, Kangdong, Hangang, Kangnam, Chuncheon and Hallym Dental Hospital. About 8,700 employees including 700 faculty members are currently working for HUMC. "I think my foremost responsibility is to contribute to the advancement of the hospitals by producing competent persons armed with global competitiveness. "Amid a keen competition among medical institutions in and out of Korea, the only way for our survival is to achieve specialization in each hospital of the medical center," she stressed.
