The center treats patients in the southwest area of Seoul who are under life-threatening circumstances to get them back as much as possible to a normal condition. Our center takes a multidisciplinary approach joined by specialists of all departments and provides one-stop medical care combining examination and treatment. By activating a center for cardiac arrest and a rapid treatment program for severe brain diseases, we are trying to maximize the survival rates of patients with acute myocardial infarction, stroke and severe trauma. We are also running a hot-line named ‘A 24-hour patient referral system’ to help an emergency patient who visited a primary care hospital to be sent immediately to our center. In 2003, it was designated as a regional emergency medical center by the government, and re-opened after reorganizing well-established system, advanced equipment and modern facilities in 2010.
